Social Media & Content Creator

Location: Downtown Vancouver (in-person)
Schedule: This position requires a flexible schedule and is not limited to traditional business hours. Regular attendance at events during late afternoons, evenings, and weekends will be expected.
Term: Full-time, Ongoing
Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000
Discover Canada Tours – a family-owned Canadian tour operator – is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to lead our content program and support the growth of our brand through authentic, real-time storytelling.This role will work closely with our tour guides and office team to capture, curate, and amplify content from our tours, events, and experiences - turning everyday moments into powerful marketing assets.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Content Program Management
- Train and onboard tour guides & office staff on content capture (photo/video best practices)
- Encourage and motivate participation across the entire team
- Manage and execute the Guide Content Incentive Program
- Review submissions and ensure they meet quality standards
- Track entries, scoring, and monthly winners
Content Collection & Organization
- Gather and manage incoming content (photos/videos)
- Organize and maintain a structured content library (e.g., Flickr)
- Tag, categorize, and archive content for easy access and future use
Content Creation & Social Media
- Create engaging social media content, including Reels and short-form video
- Post regularly across platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, Linkedin)
- Write captions that reflect the brand voice and storytelling style
- Identify and highlight top-performing content through analytics
On-the-Ground Content Capture
- Attend select tours, events, and activations to capture high-quality content
- Film team-led moments, guest experiences, and key brand interactions
- Support special campaigns, events, launches, and seasonal initiatives
Schedule:
This role is based on 40 hours per week that blends in-office planning with on-the-ground storytelling. While many weeks include regular Monday–Friday office hours, you’ll also step out into the field to capture content where the experience happens. You can expect:
- A mix of office-based work and on-location content creation across our destinations.
- Occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends driven by tour schedules, events, and real-time opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in content creation, social media management, or digital marketing (1–3+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of major social platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Experience creating short-form video content (e.g., Reels, TikToks), with a strong ability storytelling and trends
- Proficiency in content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or mobile editing apps (e.g., CapCut)
- Strong organizational skills with experience managing digital asset libraries (e.g., Flickr or similar systems)
- Comfortable working with large teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and capturing content in real-time during events or tours
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone to match brands' voices to target a diverse demographic
- Analytical mindset with experience using social media insights and performance metrics to optimize content
- Highly self-motivated, creative, and proactive with strong attention to detail
- Knowledge or experience in the tourism/travel industry is an asset
- Knowledge of Western Canada as a destination is an asset
- Candidates must currently reside in Canada and be legally eligible to work; this eligibility must have a minimum of one full year of remaining validity
