Digital Marketing Coordinator

Term: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000

Discover Canada Tours – a family-owned Canadian tour operator celebrating 20 years of adventures in 2025 – is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in helping us enhance our market presence, particularly in the digital space, through well-planned and executed marketing initiatives.

As a key member of the Marketing team, you’ll work closely with the Marketing Manager to coordinate and implement campaigns that drive brand awareness, generate leads, and support sales growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on multitasker with a solid understanding of digital marketing, strong project management skills, and a data-driven mindset.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Campaign and Project Coordination: 
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing campaigns and projects to achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the internal team, external partners, media agencies, and contractors to ensure timely and successful delivery of marketing projects.
  • Act as a liaison between various stakeholders to maintain alignment with brand and business goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.
  • Analyze and report campaign performance to offer insights and recommendations for improvement.
Google PPC & Google Analytics 
  • Liaise with Google PPC consultant for Google PPC campaign implementation, planning and reports.
  • Monitor Google Analytics and website metrics closely, provide regular audits, updates on trends, and best practices to improve ROI.
Website Content & SEO
  • Coordinate with internal team and external partners to optimize website content; coordinate with external programmers for website maintenance; work with SEO consultant on SEO-specific improvements.
  • Blog management: plan, write and edit blog content following blog outlines, digital marketing strategy, and SEO best practices.
Social Media
  • Manage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube) for our brands: Discover Canada Tours, West Trek, and Destination Snow.
  • Plan and execute the social media content calendar (Organic & Paid ads.)
  • Plan and execute paid social ad campaigns using Meta Business Suite, Canva or other tools. 
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports for social media and social ad performances.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing Co-op marketing campaigns and generating reports.
  • Plan and coordinate with influencer campaigns.
  • Assist in updating the internal image & video content library utilizing Pixiset, Flickr and Google Drive.
Email Marketing 
  • Plan, develop and execute email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp.
  • Update and maintain audiences

While this role emphasizes digital marketing, the Marketing Coordinator will also support cross-departmental and brand-specific initiatives as needed, in addition to the key responsibilities outlined above. 

Qualifications:

  • Marketing or Tourism degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum 2-year experience with Google PPC, Google Analytics and SEO.
  • Minimum 2-year experience in social media management.
  • Minimum 2-year experience in social ads using Meta Business Suite.  
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices for content creation on all digital platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a strong understanding of SEO principles and marketing strategy integration.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress.  Additional website-related knowledge of HTML, CSS is an asset. 
  • Working knowledge of email marketing using Mailchimp
  • Knowledge of HubSpot is an asset. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the tourism/travel industry is an asset
  • Knowledge of Western Canada’s main destinations is an asset
  • Working knowledge of AI tools is an asset
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Candidates must currently reside in Canada and be legally eligible to work, holding a valid work permit with minimal one year of remaining validity.
